Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use Ivis-GRC for?

Ivis-GRC can be used to document, manage and control any compliance process. From the simple:

  • Email me if any changes are made to procedure X, or
  • On day 5 of every month initiate a survey of all designated sales representatives to confirm that all commissionable sales have been submitted

To the potentially very complex or large:

  • Document my SOX, Environmental Health & Safety and FDA testing and compliance
  • Manage all of my contracts online

How do I transition from my current process without repeating all the work I have done in the past?

Ivis-GRC can be used to document your processes from scratch using our flowchart/workflow engine or you can upload your current flowchart files and lock them in the Ivis-GRC application. Ivis-GRC can then be set to report any changes made to the uploaded hardcopy.

We suggest however that to get full benefit from Ivis-GRC workflow capability, each time you make any changes to documented processes that you make them using Ivis-GRC flowcharting and workflow so that you can migrate to a situation where you are taking full advantage of Ivis-GRC.

Will auditors or regulators have a problem with Ivis-GRC?

If you use Ivis-GRC to document your processes, tests etc. as they know them today then you should have no issue with your auditors or regulators for implementing Ivis-GRC. If you have any doubt we recommend that you coordinate the changes with them.

Can I store my previous years’ documentation on Ivis-GRC?

Yes. You can upload soft copies of previous years’ documentation. We recommend using the document management module.

Where is Ivis-GRC hosted?

Our applications are hosted by Newtek Business Services, one of the premier providers of business services and financial products to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the United States. Newtek Business Services hosting is SAS-70 Type 1 & 2 compliant.

How often is my data backed up?

Ivis-GRC data is backed up daily offsite. If you are concerned about data integrity we recommend that you periodically save any critical work to your hard drive using the save functionality in Process Template Library in System Tools.

What technology is Ivis-GRC based on?

The Ivis-GRC platform is built on Boost, our Adobe ColdFusion based portal server for which the intellectual property was developed in house over the span of 3 years and has been in full production for over 6 years. The Boost architecture was designed to allow web applications to be built quickly and efficiently by providing the developer with essential building blocks already coded in an integrated and consistent programming environment. The portal is very stable and scalable with major companies having operated a Boost based content management system for the past three years taking over 1 million hits a day without incident.
