Every project may look perfect in the planning stage, but in reality all plans change. xProcess allows you to
optimize your plans based on your organizations changing processes and other variables such as estimates,
resources and priorities throughout the project life-cycle. The scheduler will automatically determine the
optimum resource allocation and forecast dates based on continuously updated information.
|
xProcess helps you manage realistic plans by:
- continually updating forecasts as work progresses
- recording changes to estimates, resources, priorities, and project scope
- supporting decision making about holding to project dates or adjusting them as conditions change

How can defining and improving process help to optimize plans?
A defined process provides the framework for rapidly creating project plans that follow your
preferred way of working. Priorities can then be determined and assigned to the various
deliveries of the plan and different options for deploying the team's resources assessed.
The xProcess dynamic planning environment takes project planning even further. The optimizing
scheduler will automatically determine the optimum resource allocation and forecast milestone
completions based on continuously updated information of project parameters. As a flexible
environment, xProcess's optimizing scheduler responds continuously to changes associated with:
- Task estimates.
For example, if you discover additional work is needed to complete a task or if additional tasks are required.
- Resource availability.
For example, if a staff member leaves the project unexpectedly or new resources become available.
- Priorities.
For example, if a customer needs a new feature urgently or another feature is found to be less important.
- Constraints.
For example, changes in task dependencies where it is no longer necessary for one task to be complete for the next to start, or if a required task is delayed.
When a change is entered, the xProcess optimizer assesses the effect of the change on resource
assignments and availability. It then re-forecasts end dates for tasks, project milestones and other events.
Such optimized planning provides better forecasts, more accurate progress against targets and earlier
warnings of issues that may jeopardize project success.
